About Marc Van Doren

Have you ever had to write something about yourself? I find it so much easier to simply do what I do best and let my actions do the talking. I literally dive into each day with a passion to do whatever it takes to help my clients. Passion is the right word. Yes, I'm an experienced RealtorŪ and Broker, but I think the similarities end there. I bring a whole lot more to the table than most other Realtors. And there's a whole lot more to this business than simply selling a house.

Stay with me...

I've worked in some form of customer service for almost 35 years. I've also been a customer, real estate transactions included, so I know what I expect from a RealtorŪ. Believe me I've walked the walk, so I feel I am more than qualified to talk the talk.

I chose to enter this profession years ago after being mentored by a trusted colleague (and dear friend) Lori Hall with Long and Foster Real Estate in Northern Virginia. I began my North Carolina real estate career with Prudential Carolina's Realty, moved to RE/MAX Integrity in Cary NC, and in the fall of 2010 moved to Raleigh Cary Realty, a small, but very experienced and customer focused real estate firm in Cary, North Carolina.

In 2000 I designed, and was own general contractor, in the construction of my personal home in Raleigh, North Carolina. I also have a lot of "sweat equity" in this property. You can only imagine the things I learned during that process! As a RealtorŪ I'm not supposed to consider myself qualified in things outside of my profession, but I will say I learned a whole lot about construction materials, techniques, and State & County requirements and guidelines. That experience, in addition to my past career in the Automotive Industry, and my career in software consulting, makes me feel rather self sufficient. I simply know stuff. I'm often called MacGyver because I seem to know a little bit about a whole lot of things. Trust me, I've been around the block a few times, so what I know has come from experience.

My absolute passion for customer service is what keeps me going each day. It's interesting...I love working with First Time Homebuyers because I have so much to give based on personal experience...and experiences. But I also love working with experienced home buyers and sellers because they've been through it all before and recognize the fact that I'm not just your average RealtorŪ.

On a personal note: I live alone now. I love to play basketball, run, hike, fish, and travel...pretty much anything outdoors or near the water. I especially look forward to my annual sailing trips to the British Virgin Islands with my dear friends. It's my way of recharging my batteries. I put my heart and soul into my business, and in helping my clients each and every day. Now that I'm in my 50's battery recharging seems to be a little more important than ever!
